Among the prominent teachers at the course is one of the world's leading experts in cryptography, Professor Ronald L. Rivest, MIT, who is leader of the Cryptography and Information Security Group at MIT. He is one of the founders of public key cryptography and he is perhaps best known as the 'R' in the RSA public key cryptosystem. Together with Adi Shamir and Len Adleman he has been awarded the IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communication Award and the Secure Computing Achievements Award. Rivest will give a guest lecture on public key cryptography and its history.
